Please help the new Family Support Shelter!

The Family Support Center has opened a new shelter for families with children, in response to the closure of the Salvation Army’s family shelter.  They badly need volunteers to staff the shelter!  This means that you could directly help ensure that no child sleeps on an Olympia sidewalk.  Besides, shelter staffing in a family shelter mostly involves playing with a bunch of little kids – what could be more fun!

For full details on the volunteer opportunity, please visit the Family Support Center’s listing on the Volunteer Center site.

How you can directly assist our guests

We will occasionally post assistance requests on behalf of our guests.  Through these blog posts, you will have the opportunity to read or watch interviews with guests and contribute directly to their individual needs.  These “assists” will help our guests to cover move-in costs for housing, eliminate medical debts, find work, and attain personal aspirations.  Keep an eye on our assists category on this blog for opportunities to make a difference.
